You probably know that PPC or pay per click,is the most highly targeted traffic in internet and affiliate marketing.
Obviously,the most highly targeted traffic is also the best traffic,because customers are seeking your product and/or services.
If you start from the premise that you need to hunt for customers who would be interested in your products and services,then you’re going about interent marketing in the reverse direction.
In other words, you want customers to actively seek your product.This is why some forms of advertising just don’t convert well.
PPC is used with search engines, and enquirers who are actively seeking your specific product or service,use the search engine to get what they need or want as quickly as possible.
You know how it works as searchers install a keyword or keyword phase into a search engine’s search bar,and presto,there you are on page one of Google with your products and services.
Recall internet marketers use the term “keyword” as one word, two or more than two words comprise a keyword phrase.
But regardless of the number of words,the keyword,or keyword phrase,is still called a keyword.
Whar’s more, a long tail keyword,which is basically a keyword phrase, is an extension of a more general keyword.
So the general keyword “doormat” can become :
front porch doormat
Can you see where this can go on ad finitum?
But just getting a couple of keyword phrases to page one Google can mean thousands of visitors to your website.
How do you find thousands of relevant keywords with which you can work to get on page one of Google?
I believe you know the most significant keyword finder is Google keyword planner,take a look here=> http://adwords.google.com/KeywordPlanner.
Go to the Tools pulldown-> keyword planner-> Search for new keywords using a phrase,website,or category. Enter your general phrase,then click get ideas. (keyj)
Notice I’ve clicked the tab “Keyword ideas”,and I get back the average monthly search volume,the competition,and the suggested bid.
You’ll use the suggested bid if you enter a campaign in Google Adwords.
You want to stay with low competition if you’re just starting in the industry,move up to medium if you’ve been around for awhile.
For organic search marketing you’ll need to concern yourself with average monthly searches and competition.
The amount of search you’ll need depends on the specificity build into your keyword.
For example, the keyword “mat” has 300,000 searches per month but no specificity, so the percentage of conversions on that keyword would be very low,if any.
Now if you take the keyword minnesota viking doormat,this is very specific and will garner significant conversions and sales.
The search per month however will be relatively few at 320,but because of the specificity,most of the searchers will be looking specifically for that and want to buy.
