A couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things.
They decide to go to the doctor for a checkup.
The doctor tells them that they’re physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember.
Later that night while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair.
His wife asks, “Where are you going?”
“To the kitchen,” he replies.
“Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?”
“Don’t you think you should write it down so you can remember it?” she asks.
“No, I can remember it.”
“Well, I’d like some strawberries on top, too. You’d better write it down, because you know you’ll forget it.”
He says, “I can remember that!
You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries.”
“I’d also like whipped cream.
I’m certain you’ll forget that, so you’d better write it down!” she retorts.
Irritated, he says, “I don’t need to write it down, I can remember it! Leave me alone!
Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream — I got it, for goodness sake!”
Then he grumbles into the kitchen.
After about 20 minutes the old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs.
She stares at the plate for a moment and says… “You forgot my toast?
Relate To Customers On A Human Level
This Copy Writing Formula,has been a predominate blueprint,and was adapted by copywriters even before advertising became such an integral part of the World Wide Web.
Before I enumerate the important sales copy points,keep in mind that you need to always want to approach it from the perspective of your customer.
What does your prospect want to know?
First and foremost alway imagine yourself as your own customer.
It’s all about the what the customer needs and wants,and has almost nothing to do with you.
You always need to organize,just like when you wrote your college term papers.
The difference however,is that you write very conversational,informal, and simple with short sentences and paragraphs.
Next,make it flow smoothly and naturally.That said, lets look at the some steps.
- Subject : most important must be compelling
- Hook : achieve their dreams, calm their fears.
- Features and Benefits: describe your product/service,how is it useful? How it will help them.
- Unique Selling Proposals: your product or service is different from and better than others. Why?
- Credibility: testimonials!
- Bargain Appeal: Discounts, Bandwagon, Bribery.
- Guarantee: you stand behind and believe in your product. You’ll alway give a full refund.
- Push : the importance of making an immediate decision.
Obviously,Making it as easy as possible for your customers to pay is essential for increasing conversions and sales.
You also want to include a list of problems your product or service solves.
A “P.S.” is not an afterthought, but a purposeful piece of copy,basically says, “by the way”.
Recall, the subject line or headline is the most important piece of the sales letter.
The sales video,is now the most advocated marketing tool and is a shorter version of the webinar.
So in the subject,you need to formulate the advantageous result from your offer.
Or,solve your customers’ problem with your product or service.
You need to create a clear and compelling headline,as 80% of your sales depends on the headline.
You always need to be down-to-earth as well as able to relate to potential customers on a human level.
One recommedation is to write, or obtain, a hundred headline subjects,and put them into a “swipe” file from which you can draw.

The initial compelling words are called the “eyebrow”,so always begin with the powerful eyebrows: “announcing”,”introducing”,”new”, “now’, “at last”, “Who else wants”, “The Secret of”, “Here’s a method that’ll always help you to”, “Here’s a lighting fast way to”, “Get rid of … forever”.
So “At last,ways to use your destop computer to make money online…”.
“Announcing a proven way to make money at home…”,
“Who else wants to make significant money working from the coffee shop…”.
You use what they call an “opening hook”,with the “If you…..then…” format.
If you want this outstanding benefit,then you need my unique and outstanding product or service.
Adding various ways or methods is necessity in headline copywriting.
So “At Last a proven way to use your laptop computer to make money online”,becomes: “At Last 15 proven ways to use your laptop computer to make money online”.
This also works well with email.
Do not put more than one predominant idea into your headline.
The other option for the opening hook is to tell a short story.
This can be a short,realistic,and compelling piece.
Funny is always good because of the emotional impact.
Remember,methods in the header,and the hook needs to be compelling,and emotional.
